Craftmark Group Combats supposed "Worst Housing Downturn since Great Depression" with its Best Sales Month of the Year.

McLean, Virginia – The Craftmark Group, one of the largest privately held homebuilders in the Washington area, includes both Craftmark Homes and Craftstar Homes. In August, 2008, they achieved their best monthly sales of the year in the so called “worst housing downturn since the Great Depression,” with 35 total sales.

In the words of Ken Malm, President of the Craftmark Group, “Our remarkable improvement in sales has been seen in a variety of product lines and throughout both Maryland and Virginia. We are encouraged by this performance during a month which is historically slow in sales, and hope this is a signal that buyers who were previously on the sidelines are finally beginning to return to the market.”

“Our homebuyers have also been very responsive to our Green/Energy Star programs,” Ken also said. “These make us the tangible leaders in energy conservation, indoor air quality, water efficiency and resource management wherever we build.”

The full Craftmark Group green mission and its exciting implications for health, well-being and quality of life can be experienced through a free DVD and literature available at all Craftmark Group communities.

The Craftmark Group is ranked in the top 100 builders nationally by Professional Builder Magazine and recognized by the Washington Business Journal as one of the top 50 privately held businesses in the nation’s capital region. They have consistently delivered 350-550 homes a year since the mid 1990’s.

The Craftmark Group has been honored with the Greater Washington Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and is the 5 time winner of the Large Volume Builder of the Year Award, as well as 50 other major design and quality awards.
