Fall is officially here! There’s nothing like getting the family together and taking a trip out to the apple orchard or pumpkin patch. So, if you’re in one of our amazing communities and want to experience a corn maze firsthand or need some fresh apple cider for your next get-together, here is where to go:
Fall festivities for the family
Their Fall Festival is one of the most fun events in the area and runs until Nov. 5 in Centerville, Virginia. Located a short drive from our Preserve at Westfields community, the Fall Festival has everything: potato sack slides, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, apple picking, a petting zoo, live music and more!
A Maryland mainstay since 1953, Butler’s Orchard offers pumpkin patches, apple and berry picking, and a farmers market open Tuesday-Sunday from 9:30am-6pm. If you can, we recommend going during the annual Pumpkin Festival, where there will be mazes, jump pads, pony rides, face painting and many other activities. It’s a quick drive from Mateny Hill and is sure to be a big hit with the family.
This farm is sure to provide the quintessential pumpkin picking experience. It has been in the community for over 30 years and is open every day (check the website for hours). It also offers hayrides, making it perfect for the kids. It’s centrally located between two of our communities, Georgia Row at Walter Reed in Washington, D.C. and Primrose Hill in Annapolis. So, even if you’re in the city, a pumpkin patch is nearby.
Apples are the name of the game here. With multiple varieties of these delicious, healthy treats, you’re sure to go home happy. It’s open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm throughout the fall. Enjoy a leisurely stroll throughout the orchard and pick the best apples yourself! It’s a mere 10-minute drive from Clarksburg Town Center, so there’s no excuse to miss out.
The picturesque farm scenery and your choice of apple or pumpkin picking make Homestead Farm a great place to go this fall. The farm is open from 9am-5pm seven days a week, and it is located close to Mateny Hill luxury townhomes. It’s worth the trip.
As you can see, the DMV area is filled with exceptional choices for fall fun. Whether you want to impress guests with a delectable homemade apple cobbler, or win the jack-o’-lantern competition, you’ll have the resources available to do it. Get out there, bask in the cooler weather and enjoy local produce with your family.
